The History of Insurance Women of Buffalo

In 1942, the Insurance Women of Buffalo was formed by 90 charter women who found the Insurance Industry to be a challenging, exciting career.

Today, almost 80 women in all facets of the insurance field, find insurance to be just as challenging and have declared their commitment to the Insurance Women of Buffalo, Inc. IWOB was 
Organized in 
October 1942 and Incorporated November 1973.



The Insurance Women of Buffalo, Inc., is a local chapter of Federation of New York Insurance Professionals (FNYIP) that serves it members by providing professional education where its members can grow, learn and develop their careers.

Insurance Women of Buffalo host monthly membership meetings every second Tuesday of the Month.  Each meeting features a monthly speaker on subjects pertinent to industry and related issues. Please visit our Upcoming Events page to view our scheduled meetings & special events.

Our membership consists of insurance professionals, including agency owners, underwriters, risk managers, customer service representatives and claims adjustors.

As a member of the Insurance Women of Buffalo, Inc., you are also a member of the Federation of New York Insurance Professionals (FNYIP).
